Apple Acquires Automation App ‘Workflow’

When it comes to apps that help to automate certain activities and tasks on our phones, there are several to choose from. One of those apps is Workflow which made its debut in 2014, and now according to a report from TechCrunch (via MacRumors), it seems that the app has since been acquired by none other than Apple.

For those who are unfamiliar with Workflow and its features, basically users can use this app to do all kinds of things. For example it can help users create GIFs from a series of photos, or helping to download images from a website, translating articles, posting to multiple social media platforms at once, calculating tips, and more.

According to Workflow’s Ari Weinstein, “We are thrilled to be joining Apple. We’ve worked closely with Apple from the very beginning, from kickstarting our company as students attending WWDC to developing and launching Workflow and seeing its amazing success on the App Store. We can’t wait to take our work to the next level at Apple and contribute to products that touch people across the world.”

It is unclear as to what Apple plans to do with the app and whether or not they might integrate it into iOS in the future, but for now it seems that Apple will be keeping the app around as it is available for download (free) via the iTunes App Store.
