The application’s interface has two shortcut categories, namely Basic and Advanced. Each category has 10 shortcuts that you use most often to access Windows features. Shortcuts like Windows Cell Lock, Shutdown, Restart, Open device manager, safely remove hardware, Windows DVD maker, etc., available at the interface.

To create a shortcut on the desktop, first, download and install the Handy Shortcuts portable application from here. After running the file, you can open the interface. Using the interface, you can easily create shortcuts that you often use for your desktop.

The interface has two categories, Basic and Advanced. Both categories have 20 shortcuts that can really help you to access Windows features.

The shortcut names for the Basic category are as follows:

  • Log Off Windows
  • Windows lock
  • Restart Windows
  • Launch Windows Security Center
  • Windows shutdown
  • Shortcut to Hibernate Windows
  • Show Desktop shortcut
  • Open Device Manager
  • Add and Remove Program shortcut on Desktop
  • Shortcut to Switch User Accounts

Shortcuts included in the Advanced category are as follows:

  • Windows DVD Maker
  • Launch or Change the Screen saver state
  • Enable Windows 7 or Vista Firewall
  • Disable Windows 7 or Vista Firewall
  • Flip3D Activate
  • Master Control Panel in Windows 7 and Vista
  • Connect to internet shortcut on Windows 7 desktop
  • Shortcut to Start Windows Defender
  • Clear clipboard Desktop Shortcut in Windows
  • Safely Remove Hardware

To create a desktop shortcut, you only need to click the shortcut that you want to use. Then the shortcut icon appears on your desktop. Whenever you want to use the shortcut, you don’t need to use any keyboard keys, just click the shortcut icon that you selected from the interface.

You can create many shortcuts on the desktop. If you don’t want to keep certain shortcuts longer then you can delete them. The picture above has all the shortcut icons that I have selected from the Interface. Clicking on the shortcut icon will automatically open and run the program.
